This kit is your gateway to exploring the fascinating world of mycology.

 

Kit Overview

This kit allows you to:

– Create 5 spore syringes from your spore print.

– Test for contamination in the spore syringes you create

– This kit makes it easy to inoculate a grain bag.

-Kit helps you hydrate old spores

-the kit also helps you kill all bacteria in your spore syringe

 

What This Kit Includes

 

– 50ml sterile container ( to mix antibacterial water and spore print)

– 70% Isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle (to sanitize the work area)

– 5 MEA biodegradable agar cups (for testing)
We highly recommend to order extra MEA cup. Some cups may also come in unusable condition Cups that arrive damaged, contaminated or broken will be refunded, not replaced. So having some extra is always useful.

– 5 10ml sterile syringes (to fill spore syringe)

– 10 sterile needles (5 to fill syringe and 5 to inoculate grain bags)

– 5 x 10ml antibacterial sterile water (to mix with the spore print in a container)

– Pre-sterilized rye or millet grain bag

 

Step-by-Step Process

 

  1. Empty the contents of the antibacterial syringe you receive into the container, and using a scalpel, scrape the spores into the sterile container.
  2. Using a fresh syringe and needle, you will then proceed to fill your syringes.
  3. Store the spore syringe in the fridge inside a zip-lock bag.
  4. Test them with the provided agar cup 5 days before inoculation.

 

There are few technicalities therefore we recommend watching our instructional video on how to convert your spore print into a spore syringe.

 

To minimize contamination risks, it is a good idea to perform all procedures in front of a laminar flow hood or a still air box.
