How to  use Lions mane in powder Form

  • Beverages: Stir 1 teaspoon of powder into:
    • Hot coffee (mushroom coffee)-do not add too much as it can make it bitter
    • Tea or herbal infusions
  • Cooking: Add during meal preparation to boost nutrition-recommended way
    • Stir into soups, stews, and broths while simmering
    • Mix into sauces, curry bases, or even pasta dishes

Pro Tips:

  • Powder works best in hot liquid or food as it helps extract the beneficial compounds.
  • Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place to preserve potency and prevent moisture.

How to use whole Dried Mushroom

Whole dried Lion’s Mane mushrooms retain their fibrous texture and umami flavour, ideal for culinary uses that mimic meat or seafood.

Rehydration Process:

  • Soak dried mushroom bodies in warm water (not boiling) for until fully rehydrated and soft. This can take 15 minutes or sometimes longer.

After rehydration use as per below:

Soups and Stews:

  • Add them in the soup stock
  • Simmer for at least 20–30 minutes to allow the mushroom to absorb Flavors and soften further and then blend.
  • Pairs well with miso, bone broth, or vegetable soups or mushroom soup.

 Sauté or Stir-Fry:

  • Slice the mushroom
  • Sauté in a pan with a bit of olive oil or butter, garlic, and your favorite herbs/spices.
  • Cook until golden and slightly crispy on the edges.

Flavor & Texture Note: When cooked this way, Lion’s Mane develops a meaty, stringy texture reminiscent of crab meat or lobster, making it a popular plant-based seafood substitute.

Most mushroom kits on the market are grown in standard plastic bags that can leach microplastics into the substrate. At Rootlab, we do things differently. All our mushrooms are grown using Kits made with Unicorn Grow Bags (USA) — the only bags in the world that have been independently tested by Eurofins, a leading third-party laboratory in Europe.

Unicorn PP bags have successfully passed the stringent EN 1186 and USFDA 1520 food-contact migration tests for plastic safety. In fact, they were tested at the toughest conditions — 121°C for 3.5 hours — and showed no plastic migration into the substrate.

No PE bags or any other PP bags from other manufacturers have met this critical food-safety standard.

So you can rest assured: Rootlab kits do not leach microplastics, and your mushrooms are completely safe to eat.
